MOTs have returned! Book your VW, AUDI, SEAT, Skoda MOT in London

At the beginning of the lockdown in March, the government stated that they would be allowing certain exemptions on your car requiring to have an MOT. This was to help the key workers to stay mobile in order to help fight the pandemic.
As an independent North London garage, we understand that there will be some drivers that may not have remembered to take their car, be it an Audi, VW, SEAT, Skoda or Bentley for their next MOT.
It is crucial to all drivers to be aware that the 6 months MOT exemption is now over, meaning any car or van whose original MOT ran out on or between 30th March and 31 July 2020 will need to book their retest.
Revised MOT due date guide
MOT expiry 31st March – Now due 30th September
MOT expiry 30th April – Now due 31st October
MOT expiry 31st May – Now due 30th November
MOT expiry 30th June – Now due 31st December
MOT expiry 31st July – Now due 31st January
The roll back to the normal rules were shortened from the initial announcement and came into effect on 1st August this year. Consequently, it could result in there being thousands of car owners driving around London that have still not had the latest MOT carried out.
Even though the MOT test was delayed for many drivers, the government guidelines maintained that all cars must be safe and roadworthy before being taken out on the public roads. At this stage, the government had to rely on the owners carrying out a range of basic checks.
