Suspension air springs

16Mar
Old and new air springs
New spring fitted on to shock absorber

Audi and VW air suspension systems give a great ride when they are operating correctly. Unfortunately they can cause a problem when they fail.

A customer came to us to diagnose his Audi Allroad where his front suspension had completely dropped overnight.

We investigated the problem and found one of his front suspension air springs has sprung a leak.

The air suspension system has an air bag for a spring not the conventional coil spring that is usually fitted on most other vehicles.

The suspension air spring rolls up and down when air is pumped in or out from the control system.

See our youtube channel for a demo of the air spring removed and being moved up and down. Russell Automotive’s youtube channel.

We replaced the air spring for the customer, reset and basic set the suspension system.

After the air suspension system components are replaced the vehicles suspension control unit and level sensors need to be basic set and the suspension level adapted.  To do this the correct diagnosis equipment is needed.

Here at Russell Automotive Centre we are the only Award Winning Specialist in London with the same up to date diagnosis equipment as a main dealer, so we are able to correctly set and adapt the electrics of the system.

For air suspension problems and any other problems or routine servicing, MOTs or repairs, Russell Automotive Centre London’s Leading Audi, VW, Seat and Skoda Specialist is the wise choice. Saving you up to 50% compared with main dealers.

All of our repairs are covered by our price match promise.
