We are able to offer cambelt changes on Audi, VW, Seat, Skoda & Bentley vehicles. We believe best practise it to change the water pump at the same time plus the alternator belt. It’s a labour intensive part of the engine to get to so we change these wear and tear items at the same time as they can fail individually. This saves you paying twice to access the same area.
When do I need to change my cambelt?
Generally most vehicles need to have a cambelt change every 4 – 5 years (4 years for vehicles manufactured before approx. 2010 and 5 years for those manufactured 2010 onwards). This is based on average mileage.
What gets changed?
If you are shopping around for prices make sure you get a like-for-like comparison quote. We offer best practise in how the parts we deem changeable as part of the complete cambelt change. We only use GENUINE PARTS and change:
- Cambelt as a complete kit incl pulleys & tensioners
- Water pump
- Alternator belt
- All parts and labour are covered by a 2 year warranty
What happens if I don’t change my cambelt?
The cambelt keeps the top half and the bottom half of the engine running together. If the cambelt fails due to wear and tear it can cause the two halves of the engine to run at different times causing damage as each parts hits each other. Worst case scenario? You need a new engine. We like to think of the saying “A stich in time saves nine”
The price depends on the type of engine you have. Call us on 0208 2000995 and we can let you know the cost to change your cambelt.
